Using Positive Words

I've been experimenting during this past week with the words I use in daily communication. Words have energy. If you use words such as "I hate...", "I'm tired", "I'm sick of...", the energy those words create is negative. However if you can change your words into positives, you'll see a difference in your attitude and energy.

My power words this week are "Love and Gratitude". For every challenge, I try to include those words when thinking about it or discussing it. "I am grateful for the opportunity to learn patience. I love the fact that I can learn and grow each day."

It is amazing what just changing our words can do. It is especially important to repeat the words in your head -- to change your thoughts. I like to use this technique when I'm driving in traffic and find myself getting anxious or frustrated with drivers around me. "Love and gratitude, love and gratitude, love and gratitude." My mood changes, I think partly because I laugh at thinking about love and gratitude when someone cuts me off, but also because those words have positive power.

Try it yourself -- see how you feel. I'd love to hear about your experiences -- so please feel free to comment.
